We conduct an annual literature search on the synergy between reproductive autonomy and environmental sustainability. We screen scientific databases for peer-reviewed and trustworthy literature that addresses and is relevant to the study of the interconnections between reproductive health and rights, population size, and environmental sustainability.
This list of selected research was updated in early 2025, and is organized around 5 themes: Family planning, Climate Change and Environment, Demography and population, Ecosystem and Biodiversity and Gender and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.
Most articles have interrelated elements of sustainability, environment, and family planning. These umbrella themes are organized to make it easier for searching relevance.
Our search protocol is available here.
